The Ijen Crater hike starts around midnight, and after a few hours of trekking, you’ll reach the top just in time to see the famous blue fire—a rare natural phenomenon. As the sun rises, you’ll be rewarded with views of the turquoise acidic lake and the smoky sulfur mines below. It’s tough, but totally worth it.

Long but scenic drive to Bondowoso. Relax and take in the mountain views.

DAY 2 – Ijen Blue Fire → Malang / Ketapang / Surabaya
